Personal, Social & Health Education

At Hady Primary School we recognise the importance of PSHE in every aspect of daily life.

We believe PSHE encompasses the acquisition of knowledge, concepts, skills and positive attitudes. Throughout the programmes of PSHE Matters, Cornerstones and the Derbyshire Syllabus, the children will acquire and develop the key knowledge that has been identified within each unit and across each year group, and the curriculum will ensure that all children have a balanced and objective view to personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) education. We teach explicit PSHE sessions and, in response to the need driven by the coronavirus pandemic, we dedicate an entire afternoon every week to 'Mind, Body, Spirit'.  Children take part in activities and learning that focus on mental, physical and emotional health and well-being.

We aim to allow learners to celebrate difference within this community and to celebrate the 14 different ethnic groups represented within our school. As our school is in the East Midlands the concept of social mobility is key when we consider inspiring our learners.
