At Hady Primary School we use the Derbyshire Agreed Syllabus and Cornerstones ‘Love to Celebrate’ to deliver a rich Religious Education curriculum.
The study of religious and non-religious world views is a core component of a rounded academic education. Young people today are growing up in a world where there is increasing awareness of the diversity of religious and non-religious world views, and they will need to live and work well with people with very different outlooks from their own.
Religious Education lessons at Hady Primary provide a safe space to discuss, experience and respond well to difference – a space where students can engage with controversial issues and learn to disagree respectfully with each other.
With lively assemblies, visitors from local places of worship and links with Chesterfield churches, we take part in key events and celebrations.
Our curriculum for Religious Education aims to ensure that all pupils:
1. Know about and understand a range of religions and worldviews.
2. Express ideas and insights about the nature, significance and impact of religions and worldviews.
3. Gain and deploy the skills needed to engage seriously with religions and worldviews.
